Co-founder of Fynn

Fynn brings safe, fair, and affordable loans to students of all backgrounds at qualifying trade schools.

Fynn customers see an average salary increase of 172%, says cofounder Ethan Anderson about the company that funds education for middle-class skilled workers, such as plumbers and welders. Since its launch in 2019, Fynn has raised $36 million in funding, including from SUSA Ventures, which led seed rounds with Robinhood and Flexport.

Faique Moqeet

Co-founder of Hamster Garage

Faique left his job at Airbnb to cofound affiliate marketing agency Hamster Garage with Imran Shamim. Now, Airbnb is their client, along with brands like Brex, Turo and Canva. The company acquired Swipehouse, an influencer marketplace with over 20,000 creators, in October 2021, further focusing on creator brand partnerships.

Founder of The Coding School

A nonprofit focused on training students with coding and tech skills for the modern age, The Coding School specializes in making emerging fields like quantum computing, AI, and cyber security accessible to K-16 students and educators.

In addition to a number of other programs, like workshops and camps, TCS offers large-scale virtual courses with live instruction for K-12 credit, reaching up to 7,500 students in a given course. To date, it has trained 40,000+ students from 125 countries, has partnered with some of the world’s top companies and universities, including IBM, Google, Amazon, Caltech, Stanford, Johns Hopkins, and others. TCS was also recently asked to join the White House’s K-12 quantum education partnership, Q12.

Vice President of Warburg Pincus

As Vice President in the Energy practice of $82 billion private equity firm Warburg Pincus, Yoan focuses on investing in technologies to create a more sustainable future. He leads the firm’s investments in environmentally transformative and economically sustainable businesses that offer decarbonization solutions without taxing a “green premium” to investors.

As the most senior Black investment professional at Warburg Pincus, Yoan champions increased representation internally and across the industry, serving on the firm’s Diversity Equity & Inclusion Council.

Michael Yan

2018 Coca-Cola Scholar

Co-founder of Simplify Jobs

Y-combinator alumnus Michael Yan, Rushil Srivastava, and Ethan Horoschak are cofounders of Simplify Jobs, a recruiting platform for jobs and internships. In 2022, more than 2 million applications were submitted through Simplify, from students at more than 1200 universities. More than 80% of the app’s users are non-white people of color. The company, which has 80,000 active users, has received $1.2 million to date in VC funding.

Michael is also recognized by Forbes as one of the youngest honorees.
